Eagle Mount is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that facilitates and implements therapeutic recreational programs and opportunities to benefit people with disabilities, children with cancer, and provides support for their families. It is headquartered in Bozeman, Montana. == History ==
Gen. Robert C. Mathis and wife Greta, created I Am Third Foundation and Eagle Mount in 1982. This nonprofit program began in the fall of 1983 in Bozeman, Montana. Eagle Mount serves thousands of disabled people in Bozeman and the surrounding cities: Billings, Great Falls, and Helena. Eagle Mount started off with just skiing in 1983 at Bridger Bowl but now includes swimming, horseback riding, ice skating, fishing, golf, kayaking, cycling, and horticulture. Eagle Mount is a nonprofit organization, meaning all the money going into the program is donated money or money raised for the program. At first, raising money was difficult. People did not know what to expect out of this mission and the Mathis’s did not have much to prove about the program. But in 1983, they were proven wrong: they had more than a few; they had nearly 100 athletes. According to the ''Bozeman Daily Chronicle'' “The couple created more than a program for people with disabilities. They created kinship between anyone who deigns to get involved,.〔
